For normal point of entry to Busill Jones Primary School, i.e. applications to Reception, parents must apply to the home LA in which they reside. For In Year admissions, in accordance with the Trust’s current admission arrangements, parents must apply to the relevant LA that the school sits in (which may not necessarily be where the family resides).

Consultation on Proposed Change to Pupil Admission Number (PAN) at Busill Jones Primary School
Busill Jones Primary School, in partnership with SHINE Academies, is launching a consultation regarding a proposed change to our admission arrangements for the academic year 2027/28.
What is being proposed?
We are proposing to reduce the Published Admission Number (PAN) for Reception from 45 to 30. This means that, starting in September 2027, the number of Reception places available each year would be 30.
Why is this change being considered?
This proposal is in response to falling birth rates and a recent drop in migration to the Walsall area. As a result, there have been a significant number of unfilled Reception places in recent years. Reducing the PAN will help the school manage resources and staffing more efficiently, ensuring a sustainable and high-quality learning environment for all pupils.
Please note: No pupil who already has a confirmed place at the school will be affected by this proposal.
Consultation period
The consultation will run for six working weeks, from Wednesday 26 November 2025 to 5pm on Wednesday 20 January 2026. All responses received during this period will be considered.

What happens next?
After the consultation closes, SHINE Academies will consider all feedback before making a final decision on the admission arrangements by 28 February 2027. The final arrangements will be published by 15 March 2027.
