Thank you for your continued support
Friday 3rd July 2020
Thank you for your continued support, patience and kindness during this challenging time. Some of the kind messages we have received via email and phone calls have been lovely, and we are missing you all so much.
As you are probably aware, yesterday we received some updated guidance from the government regarding the plans for children to return in September. Please understand that any arrangements being made are subject to change, dependent on the country’s developing situation with Corona Virus and the School’s continuous risk assessments.
In line with new government guidance, we will be welcoming back all children in all year groups. Therefore, we are now making plans and arrangements for all of our classrooms to be organised in the recommended way i.e. tables arranged in a safe way, individual set of resources for children to use, extra hand wash and hand gel in all classrooms, staggered drop-off and pick-up times and staggered lunches. Hopefully, we will also be able to reinstate our breakfast club and some after school clubs.
We understand your concerns regarding returning to school and what it means for your children and we are working hard on the type of curriculum they will receive to support their needs, emotional states and wellbeing.
This time of year is always quite exciting because children get to meet their new teachers, see their new classrooms and this is something we can’t do in person but over the next couple of weeks we would like to get some videos to you via Facebook and the school website so children can visually see.
We will be welcoming new staff this September: Mr Davidson the new Assistant Head, Miss Hadley (Year 5), Miss Harris (Year 3-4) and Miss Watkiss (Year 2). But this also means we will be saying goodbye to some staff. Mrs Lue-Quee and Miss Robinson are both leaving the end of July to pursue different career paths and Miss Verdi goes on maternity leave. We all thank them for their hard work during this unprecedented time and wish them luck for the future.
We have also taken delivery of the new school ties. Mrs Tolley and Mrs Bullock have worked hard since the shops re-opened to source these for us including PE Kits, which seem to be in high demand! But we will be in touch as to how you can collect them in a safe and organised way.
We will be in touch very soon with the plans for September once they have been finalised.
Stay safe. Best wishes,
Mrs S Field
