Microsoft Teams for education
Friday 19th June 2020
In order to support our children with their education and learning in these unprecedented times, we will be looking at using Microsoft Teams in order to potentially deliver a class style experience for our children and use it for visual communication.
In order to set this up, we encourage you to download and install Microsoft Teams onto any internet enabled device. Teams is a free application from Microsoft available for all platforms (Windows, Mac, iOS and Android) and has many layers of security built in. We recommend it and it is our preferred method of communication for education moving forward, in conjunction with our website and Social Media channels (if you have not already done so, please like and follow our Facebook page and bookmark our website).
To support families with setting up Teams on to their device, we will be holding a workshop on the school grounds on Tuesday 23rd June. There will be a booking system, so that we will be able to organise the day around social distancing to keep you, us and the children safe.
We will have a table set up where a member of staff will be on hand to direct you in how to set up the device. We will connect you to our guest WIFI during the set up.
If you have a Microsoft account, you will need this to sign into teams and we will ask for this for our records to enable us to deliver education based learning to the children in the future. We will not ask for a child’s personal email if you have set them up with one. We will not ask for your account password.
If you are unsure if you have a Microsoft account, you can check with your email address. Any email that is @outlook, @hotmail, @live are Microsoft emails. If you have a gmail account, you can use this to create a Microsoft account – we can assist with this.
We would like to encourage as many families to join in with this as possible so that we can support the children with their learning as much as possible until Schooling and Education returns to normal.
To book a time for the workshop setup and support, please follow the link from our Facebook page, or from below
If you have any queries around this, please email the schools firstname.lastname@example.org for the attention of Mr Critchlow.
