Computing

Our children follow the KAPOW Primary Computing scheme of work, which offers a broad and balanced approach to preparing children for the realities of the world that they will live in.

With our careful balance between the use of Microsoft based Laptops and Apple based iPads, we are able to deliver a multitude of learning opportunities that use the latest and most relevant software to teach our children the basics of programming, office skills, animation, digital design and podcasting, as well as many others.

We have ICT days once a half term, so that we can best use the equipment, and time.

Here are a few examples of some of the fabulous work our children have produced.

I  like computing  lessons because we get to learn how to programme games for others to play - Y5

I  like ICT  lessons because I got to make things with a computer and explore what you can do, not just typing work! - Y6

Music

Our children follow the Walsall Charanga Music scheme of work, which offers a wide and rich varity of music and songs for the children to lear, sing and play.

Children will experience a range of different music styles and genres from different periods of music which they will listen to and appraise, learnign to use correct Musical vocabulary. They will learn to sing the song and play the musical instruments to accompany it. Childrne will then be taught how to compose and play their own variation of the music, and for the more able, to try their skills at musical improvesation - feeling the music and playing in the moment.

Songs they learn range from simple tunes such as 'Big Bear Funk' and 'Hey you' in KS1, to more well known rock anthems like @Livign oin a prayer' and ballads like 'Make you feel my love'

The children  have Music lessons once a week.
